The 5 Best Luxury Landscapers in Omaha (2026 Homeowner’s Guide)
Most homeowners who call us about a backyard court have already been thinking about their whole outdoor space for a year or two.
What started as “we want a pickleball court” turns into a full redo. New patio. Pergola. Maybe a pool. Real landscaping around the whole thing.
Then comes the search. Luxury landscapers Omaha. All-inclusive landscapers near me. Hardscape contractors Omaha.
And the results aren’t helpful. Lawn mowing companies rank next to design-build firms. There’s no easy way to tell who’s actually equipped for a $40K or $200K project.
Here are the five companies we’d tell a friend to call.
What These Terms Actually Mean
Luxury landscaper (or “design-build” firm): Does the whole project. Design, plants, hardscape, lighting.
Hardscape contractor: Builds the structural stuff. Patios, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fire features, pergolas.
All-inclusive landscaper: Everything above, plus ongoing lawn care, irrigation service, and snow removal. One company, year after year.
Most big projects need a mix.
1. Above & Beyond Complete Grounds Maintenance
Best for: One landscaping partner for the long haul.
In business since 1999. Full service list: landscape design, paver patios, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, decks, outdoor lighting, fire pits, water features, irrigation, lawn care, concrete walkways, and snow removal.
A few things come up over and over in their reviews. The quote matches the final invoice, crew cleans up the site before they leave, they have great customer communication, and people tend to stick around for years (five- and six-season relationships aren’t unusual). Chandler gets named by homeowners for the design phase. Ben and the install team get named for execution.
A+ with the BBB. Multiple Best of Omaha wins. Serves Omaha, Elkhorn, La Vista, Bellevue, Ralston, and Council Bluffs.

2. Groundscapes, Inc.
Best for: A high-end, design-led outdoor space.
Nick and Lori Heimann founded Groundscapes in 2002. They’re the most openly luxury-focused firm on this list. Specialties include outdoor kitchens, fire pits, fire troughs, custom waterfalls, pondless water features, pergolas, and landscape lighting.
In the reviews, the design team (Cody and Jack are the most-named) gets credit for fighting to hit the vision within budget. Project managers text progress updates throughout the build, not just at milestones. When something unexpected comes up mid-project, they solve it and keep things moving. Their process uses 2D and 3D renderings, so you see the finished project before anyone breaks ground.
Won Best of Omaha for Outdoor Living in 2020 and 2021. Service area: Omaha, Elkhorn, Bennington, Gretna, and surrounding.
Call them when you want fire features, water elements, and dramatic lighting.

3. Ground Builders
Best for: Great communication and a team that actually shows up.
Ground Builders is one of the most relationship-forward teams in Omaha landscaping. They are known for being where they are supposed to be, showing up as clean and well branded crews and not stopping until it’s right.
Their reviews back it up. Homeowners name specific people: Jason (who founded the company over 16 years ago), Rafael, Brad, Edgar. Customers appreciate the care that Ground Builders takes while working on their home. They also mention how the team works hard to finish on time and communicates well throughout the process. According to multiple reviewers, this team delivers beautiful design-build projects while maintaining a family feel. More than one reviewer describes the relationship in family terms.
Services: custom design, patios, Struxure pergolas, fire features, water features, retaining walls, outdoor living and kitchens, and ongoing lawn care and maintenance. Residential and commercial. They are a great partner to go along side your pool installation as well!
Good pick if you’ve been burned by contractors who go quiet mid-project.

4. Hardscape Contractors
Best for: Projects built around a pool.
Based in Papillion, with additional locations in Kansas, Tennessee, and Colorado. They build every major pool type: fiberglass, gunite and concrete, luxury vinyl, and plunge pools. Most pool builders only install one, so you only get the type they sell. Hardscape Contractors picks what fits your soil, budget, and timeline.
Three people get named repeatedly in their reviews: Scott (partner), Mike (designer), and Amy (project manager). The patterns are fast execution (one review describes a full pool build and landscape in under 4 weeks), creative solutions when the budget and vision don’t line up, and daily communication from the project manager through the whole build. Crews clean up every day. When people see the finished yard, “wow” is the word that keeps showing up.
They also build everything around the pool: composite decks, outdoor kitchens and bars, pergolas and pavilions, retaining and seating walls, fire features, water features, and landscape lighting. One project, one design.
Their Trade Partner program connects them to a network of outdoor specialists, including us. That’s how a lot of pool-plus-court projects come together.

5. Lanoha Nurseries
Best for: Real landscape architecture and Nebraska-grown plants.
Lanoha has been around since 1974. Over 700 acres of nursery production. Named Omaha’s #1 Garden Center eight years running.
Reviewers talk most about the plant selection, the knowledge of the staff, and the grounds themselves (expansive enough that a visit feels like a trip in itself). Staff will track down specific plants and order off-season varieties. On the landscape design side, designer Samantha Johnson gets called out by name for coming in to fix substandard work from other nurseries and solving drainage issues other companies missed.
Their edge on a high-end project is the in-house team of degreed landscape architects. They still do hand renderings, which almost nobody does anymore. Because they grow their own plants in Nebraska, what goes in your yard is already climate-acclimated. That matters in year three, when the cheap plants are dying and yours aren’t.
Call them when design and plantings matter as much as the hardscape.

How to Pick
Here’s the honest truth: all five of these firms can handle a full luxury outdoor project. They all design, build hardscapes, and do outdoor living. The real question isn’t who can do what. It’s who matches how you want to work.
If you want one phone number for everything from the patio install to next winter’s plow, Above & Beyond is built for that from day one.
If you want a designer pushing you toward the boldest version of your vision, Groundscapes leans into that dramatic, design-forward work.
If the best contractor experiences you’ve had felt less like hiring a company and more like working with neighbors, Ground Builders is that kind of team.
If the plants and the long-term design intent matter as much to you as the hardscape, Lanoha is where the horticultural depth and landscape architecture live.
If a pool is at the heart of your project, Hardscape Contractors has probably built more pool-plus-outdoor-living projects in the metro than anyone on this list.
We’ve personally used some and would recommend the others.
Where We Come In
We’re Endurance Courts. We build backyard courts (pickleball, basketball, multi-sport) in the Omaha metro. We work with all five of the companies above. When someone calls us about a court, there’s usually a landscape conversation attached: grading, drainage, how the court fits with the rest of the yard.
And since we don’t do landscape work. These are the people we send clients to.
If your project includes a court, we can help you figure out the right partner. If one of them handles the whole thing without us, that’s a good outcome too.
